Ivan Petrovich Pavlov was born on September 14,1849.  He was a Russian physiologist who studied medicine and general science at the University of St.Petersburg and the Military of Medicine Academy. He did many experiments involving conditioning. In the experiment he got a dog and taught the dog how to come by the ring of a bell. Pavlov was known for his contribution of classical conditioning in the field of psychology. He first started by learning the digestive patterns of the dogs.He build a device that would measure the amount of saliva the dogs would have. Pavlov noticed that they would salivate every time food was brought to them. He called the salivation a reflex response since it was a normal reaction. He discovered that the dog’s saliva was a normal response to the food. He called the food the unconditioned stimulus. He started pairing cues before showing the dogs the food. Pavlov then thought that much of human behavior was based on conditioning. He thought that people could be taught a better way to live if behavior was modified. He is also famous for his work and animal experiment about classical conditioning.Ivan Petrovich Pavlov died in the year 1963.  Alfred Adler was a physician, psychotherapist, and the founder of Adlerian psychology.
